USL MATCH PREVIEW | T2 travel to face Seattle Sounders FC 2 Monday

PORTLAND, Ore. – Playing their third consecutive match on the road, T2 will travel to face Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC 2 at Starfire Stadium on Monday, Aug. 29; kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific).  

The match on Monday marks the fourth and final meeting between T2 and Sounders FC 2 this season, with Portland earning a 1-0 win against Seattle at Providence Park on May 20, while Sounders FC 2 picking up wins on June 14 at Providence Park and on July 24 at Starfire Stadium.

After going on a three-match unbeaten run from Aug. 3-14, T2 (7-13-4, 25pts) enter Monday’s match looking to bounce back from consecutive road losses to Real Monarchs SLC on Aug. 17 and Sacramento Republic FC on Aug. 20. During the 2016 USL campaign, 11 different players have scored for T2, including Victor Arboleda, Nick Besler, Villyan Bijev, Blake Bodily, Neco Brett, Kharlton Belmar, Rennico Clarke, Dylan Damraoui, Andre Lewis, Ben Polk and Steven Taylor. Through 24 games played, Brett ranks first on the team in goals scored (5), while Bjiev is tied for second in the USL in assists and leads the team with six on the season.

Seattle Sounders FC 2 (7-11-6, 27pts) head into Monday’s match following a 1-0 loss on the road against San Antonio FC on Aug. 20 at Toyota Field that extended a three-match winless run. Sitting in 12th place in the Western Conference, Seattle has a 5-5-3 record at home. Forward Darwin Jones, who last scored a brace in a 4-1 win over Real Monarchs SLC on Aug. 1, leads the team in goals scored (5), while forward Myron Samuel leads the club in assists (4).

Following Monday’s match, T2 will play host to Oklahoma City Energy FC at Merlo Field on Monday, Sept. 4; kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Pacific).
