On May 6, the Portland Timbers and Make-a-wish Oregon will team up once again at the home match against Austin FC

On May 1, 2013, over 3,000 fans in the North End of Providence Park donned signs, scarves and green smoke to cheer on Atticus Lane-Dupre and his team, The Green Machine, in a match against the Portland Timbers. Eight-year-old Atticus and his team of friends earned a 10-9 win over the Timbers, fulfilling his wish after being diagnosed with cancer in 2011.

On Saturday, May 6 at the Timbers home match against Austin FC, the club will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Atticus match with a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Oregon, helping grant more wishes to children battling critical illnesses living in Oregon and SW Washington. The match will also feature an in-game recognition with select 2013 Timbers alumni and Atticus.

The Portland Timbers and Make-A-Wish Oregon are partnering up during the home match against Austin FC to make dreams come true. $5 of every ticket sold here will help grant local wishes, and donations can be made directly to Make-A-Wish Oregon here. The Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation will be matching up to $250,000 of all donations made during the game in support of making wishes come true this spring.

According to the non-profit, more than 350 kids in our community are waiting for their wish to come true. The Wish-A-Versary match is an opportunity to come together, relive an unforgettable moment in club history, and show other kids in our community what can happen when a group of caring people rally around them to make dreams come true.
