As part of our inaugural group of ticket holders, Roger and Heidi won the chance to have a VIP experience for the Portland Timbers vs. Sporting Kansas City match, including KeyBank Club seats, and a chance to visit with Timber Joey on the field!
We asked Roger a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
Our first memory was the first game versus Chicago in 2011 – WET!!!! But if you go back, I was at games in ’75 and do remember the semi-final versus St. Louis – a 1-0 win with 35,000 in the house.
What was your favorite moment of the match tonight?
Being up on the big screen was very neat. Heidi got to meet Will Johnson.
Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
Jack Jewsbury
What is your prediction for the next match – Timbers versus Real Salt Lake?
A very tough road win, 1-0
What else should we know about your Timbers fandom?
That was a GREAT experience that anybody would love to have! Thank you very much for the very special night we had, food was great and the servers were top notch. The event coordinator, she was awesome and a really nice hostess, fun time on the field with Joey and all. Thanks again. GO TIMBERS!!! I will be back in SD 6 with all my flags flying for our last regular season game and then, with some luck, a playoff game or 6.
