KeyBank Little Timbers Fan Club (LTFC) went behind the scenes to watch a private Portland Timbers training session at JELD-WEN Field on July 31.
Over 100 members and parents sat on the east side of the field and watched as the team ran sprints, performed drills and played scrimmages. Access to raining sessions, normally closed to the general public, are one of the annual events put on for KeyBank LTFC, as well as a stadium tour at the beginning of the season and the end-of-season KeyBank LTFC Bash.
After training, Timbers players and roommates Futty Danso and Lovel Palmer answered questions submitted by KeyBank LTFC members. The duo talked about what it's like to live together, Danso's fear of clowns and Palmer admitted to often borrowing Danso’s bike.
The pair agreed on their love of Portland and playing at JELD-WEN Field.
“This stadium is the loudest stadium compared to others. Some stadiums may be larger, but the loudest is definitely JELD-WEN Field,” said Danso.
“I’ve played in a lot of places, but the Portland fans are awesome. It’s the best atmosphere in the league to play in,” said Palmer. “Who wouldn’t want to play here and in front of such passionate fans?”
KeyBank LTFC is for kids 12 and under and includes events like this, Reserves team season tickets and an exclusive LTFC scarf. For more information and to sign up, click here: http://www.portlandtimbers.com/supporters/ltfc
