PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers Academy midfielder Terrell Lowe was named to the 20-player roster for the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team’s first domestic training camp of 2015 in East Hanover, N.J., it was announced today.
Under the direction of head coach Richie Williams, the training camp will run from May 2-11 and marks the first time the team will gather in a full-time capacity since it competed at the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship in Honduras earlier this year. The U-17 MNT finished CONCACAF qualifying with a 3-1-2 record to secure a spot in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.
Lowe, 16, has appeared in 22 games (all starts) for the Timbers U-16s during the 2014-15 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season, helping Portland to a 14-6-5 (47pts) overall record with seven matches remaining on the regular-season schedule. The Pocatello, Idaho, native has registered two goals so far this season, while this marks his first call-up to U-17 MNT camp. Lowe participated in the U.S. U-14 Boys’ National Team identification camp in 2011.
