PORTLAND, Ore. – Dedicated to giving back to the community, the Portland Timbers today announced that the Portland Timbers Community Fund (PTCF) is currently accepting applications from local nonprofit organizations for grants in 2014.
In 2013, the PTCF, in partnership with community fund partners adidas, Alaska Airlines, JELD-WEN Windows & Doors, Burgerville and PGE, awarded $120,000 to youth-focused nonprofit organizations as part of the club’s community outreach platform, “Stand Together.”
The PTCF, an advised fund of the Oregon Community Foundation, supports charitable, nonprofit organizations that are registered as a 501(c)3, with tax-exempt status from the IRS and are located within one of the four surrounding counties of the Portland metro area. Grant-seeking organizations must fall under one of the areas of focus: youth education, youth activity and fitness, and environmental awareness and activism with youth and families.
Letters of Inquiry (LOI) are now being accepted to be considered for a 2014 grant from the PTCF; click here for details. Grants from the PTCF are awarded two times a year. The deadline to submit LOIs for the current grant cycle is Monday, Feb. 10.
Through Stand Together, the Timbers’ community mission is to harness the power of sport to improve the lives of children and families in the region through targeted programs, deep partnerships and philanthropic giving.
