Communities across Colorado are currently dealing with the realities of harsh flooding that has caused statewide destruction.
In an effort to assist those affected by the floods, the Portland Timbers will donate half of the proceeds earned during the 50/50 Raffle during Friday’s Colorado Rapids match at JELD-WEN Field (7:00pm PT, NBC Sports Network, 750 The Game / La Pantera 940). The proceeds will go directly to the Red Cross to ensure that those affected by flooding receive help. Additionally, fans will be able to text 90999 to give $10 directly to the Red Cross.
This season the Portland Timbers and Stand Together partnered with AC Portland and the Portland Timbers Community Fund to introduce a 50/50 Raffle for home games at JELD-WEN Field. But for this game, the Timbers will be donating their portion directly to the Red Cross to support Colorado relief efforts.
To participate, fans have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets until the 60th minute of Timbers games with a chance to win half of the total amount of funds raised that game. The other half of the proceeds are donated by the Timbers to benefit local organizations.
HOW TO HELP: People across the flooded areas need help now. The Red Cross has launched a massive relief effort to help people in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas and needs the continued support of the public to help those affected. People can make a donation to support Red Cross Disaster Relief by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Contributions may also be sent to someone’s local Red Cross chapter or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.
