Timbers Academy midfielder Milo Wray and defender Michael Dunne were called up to the U.S. U-17 National Team by head coach Gonzalo Segares for a training camp in Chula Vista, Calif., from Nov. 1-8.

Portland-born Wray is a member of the Timbers Academy U-17s, having first joined the Academy as a 12-year-old for Portland's U-13 team. He previously played for club team Portland City United.

Dunne had to withdraw from this camp due to injury. The Springfield, Ore., native also began his academy career on the U-13 side, having come over from Eugene Timbers FC – a part of the Timbers Alliance club structure.

This is the U.S. U-17 team’s first in-person camp since they participated in a February 2020 UEFA Development Tournament in England, just before the COVID-19 pandemic halted sports. Both the 2021 Concacaf U-17 Championship and 2021 FIFA U-17 World Cup were canceled due to the pandemic. Segares will now be looking to prepare the team for qualification to the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.
