PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers will host the community event ‘Rose City Road Trip’ presented by Providence in Newberg, Oregon, on August 2, the club announced today. Rose City Road Trip returns for its tenth-annual edition and will include a hospital visit and free youth soccer clinic at Newberg High School.

The Rose City Road Trip will kick off on August 2 with a group of Timbers players and club mascot Timber Joey visiting with patients at Providence Newberg Medical Center. All are invited to a community meet-and-greet and autograph session at Newberg High School from 3:30-4:30pm PT. The Rose City Road Trip will conclude with a free youth soccer clinic at the high school from 4:30-6:30pm PT.

“Promoting health and wellness, especially among kids, is important to us and the soccer clinic is a great way to encourage them to stay active,” says Andrew Haslam, Providence Newberg Medical Center’s chief administrative officer. “We’re grateful to the Timbers for including our community in what’s sure to be a fun day for all.”

The clinic is free and open to the public, and participants must pre-register online at 2024 Rose City Road Trip Registration Form.
