PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers U-23s midfielder/defender Eric Miller was named to the Premier Development League Team of the Week for the fourth week of the season, it was announced today by United Soccer Leagues. It is Miller’s second straight PDL Team of the Week selection.
Miller, in his second season with the team, recorded one goal and one assist in a 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-23 on May 23 at JELD-WEN Field. It was his second goal of the season and he leads the team in scoring with two goals and one assist.
Additionally, goalkeeper David Meves and midfielder Nick Palodichuk were named honorable mention on the Team of the Week for their performances in the shut-out victory against Whitecaps FC U-23. It was Meves’ second clean sheet of the season.
The Timbers U-23s play on back-to-back days this week, starting Friday as they play host to North Sound SeaWolves FC as part of a Providence Health & Fitness Day at JELD-WEN Field at 11 a.m. (Pacific). Portland then visits the Kitsap Pumas on Saturday at Gordon Park Field in Bremerton, Wash., at 7 p.m. (Pacific).
