The Storyline
St. Louis CITY SC (14th in West, 3-12-6, 15pts) vs Portland Timbers (4th in West, 9-5-6, 33pts)
The Portland Timbers and St. Louis CITY SC will square off for the sixth time in MLS regular-season play on Sunday and for the second time in the 2025 campaign. Portland holds a 2-1-2 record in the series, and are unbeaten when playing St. Louis on the road (1-0-1).
In the last meeting between the two sides, the Timbers earned a 2-1 comeback victory over St. Louis at Providence Park on June 8. After trailing St. Louis 1-0 in the 50th minute, Portland equalized five minutes later via a 55th minute long-distance strike from Antony, followed by David Ayala’s goal in extra time to give Portland a 2-1 win.
Notably, Portland forward Felipe Mora leads the series with two goals and an assist in three appearances (1 start) against CITY.
