The Storyline
The Timbers (10-7-7, 37 pts) enter Matchday 28 in fifth place in the Western Conference. Portland are unbeaten in five straight matches across all competitions (3-0-2), earning wins against Querétaro (8/2), San Luis (7/30) and LAFC (7/25) while tallying draws against Club América (8/6) and Minnesota (7/19).
Portland and FC Dallas will face off for the first time this season and the 31st time in the all-time MLS series. The Timbers hold a record of 9-11-10 in regular season play against Dallas.
In their last meeting on October 6, 2024, the two sides played to a scoreless draw at Providence Park. Goalkeeper James Pantemis registered seven saves in the match to record his fifth clean sheet of the season.
Both Portland and Dallas hold advantages when playing at home against one another. In Frisco, Texas, FC Dallas hold an MLS regular season record of 10-1-5 over the Timbers. The two sides will meet once more in 2025 on September 27 in Portland.
